Cabrio Roof Repairs

Our fixed price 450 smart fortwo cabrio roof repair service covers the majority of roof faults that occur either naturally or through an all too common poorly attempted repair by a franchise dealership.  This cost includes two new Cabrio E-Drive repair kits allowing for the repair of two motors which are normally (and ideally) fitted as standard to most cabrio's. 

The most common conditions reported (although not limited to) are as follows:

• roof locked in the fully down position and once released will now not lock back down or up.
• The roof appears to be locked fully down or up against the B-pillars but when I press the close button a letter C appears on the dash and a beeping sound can be heard.
• roof has closed fully forward and locked in place as normal but now will not unlock on one or both sides.
• roof is out of sync and is now positioned further forward on one side than the other.
• when closing or opening the roof it makes an intermittent or constant knocking/banging noise similar to the sound of placing a peg on the spokes of a bicycle wheel.
• The roof closed fine last time but now when I try to re-open it it only does so on one side.
• I have been told by my local smart dealer that I need a complete new roof!

Possible additional costs depend on what abuse the roof has been subjected to since it has gone wrong or during its failure! Each side of the roof has a forward, centre and rear slide hoop. These slides have quite delicate plastic loops on top of each one to keep them from bouncing and jumping out of the runners which, if twisted, will snap off on one end quite easily!

* As long as no-one else has attempted and failed at a repair beforehand, thus rendering further investigation of their errors as well as our standard repair then, as with the majority of roof-repairs, this fixed-price fee can be achieved in almost all cases.
